Professional Services

Integration of advanced computational techniques is essential for continued progress in the sciences. The focus of our Professional Services Group is to identify and integrate best-in-class information processing technologies capable of automating the broad range of data management and complex knowledge acquisition strategies required in both basic and applied research today. In support of this goal, the Biocomputing Center at MBI maintains a wide variety of internally developed, open source, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools and systems for software design and database development. The center operates under the following project management and software engineering principles:

  • Identify and eliminate sources of workflow and process friction early during the requirements phase
  • Continually decrease software development complexity by utilizing Agile Development techniques
  • Employ the best architectural strategies, including SoA and SaaS, for maximum flexibility and lower TCO
  • Promote cybersecurity by utilizing the latest secure coding practices (www.isc2.org )
  • Continually ensure audit-level compliance through strict adherence to regulatory standards including HIPAA and 21 CFR Part 11.
Our Professional Services Group delivers superior value to the clinic, the laboratory and to the individual researcher by providing rapid application software development for the following disciplines and activities:

  • Bioinformatics
    • Bioinformatics Process and Workflow Optimization
    • Gene Regulatory Analysis
    • Protein Interaction Studies
