Biomedical Informatics Theme of 2010 WPI Biotechnology and Bioengineering Corporate Forum

What: Fifth Annual Biotechnology and Bioengineering Corporate Forum, sponsored by WPI’s Bioengineering Institute (BEI), will focus on the growing field of biomedical informatics. The forum will explore how digital solutions are developed to facilitate basic science discovery work and new drug development, and to improve patient care in various clinical settings. Presenters from GE Healthcare, eClinicalWorks, GenomeQuest, Fallon Clinic and Mass. Biomedical Initiatives will discuss the development of biomedical informatics solutions, the challenges they encounter, the customers they serve, and the problems they seek to solve.

When: Tuesday, March 23, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (registration at 12:30 p.m.)

Where: WPI Campus Center Odeum (On Main Campus)

Keynote Speaker: Zhiping Weng, PhD, professor of biochemistry & molecular pharmacology and director of the Program in Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology at UMass Medical School.
